EDULUTION is a concerto and truly a work of art! Taken by chorus and verse the lyrics heighten the intellect, please the ear, and leave the listener satisfied but wanting more. Taken by song, the composure, focus, and dynamic comes into view. But it is only when the songs and their combined meaning become an interdependent story does the essence of the message come forth. Just as a painting with a million dots, the further you stand back, the more you see how the flow and mess of colors coalesce to paint a picture that says more than a description ever could.

With 6 acts; 10 music, 10 lyrical spoken-word, and 2 “clip” tracks; EDULUTION is a woven mess of lyricism and cultural expression creating an allure of thought provoking entertainment. The entire project flows with a coherent story line: Lyceum Recordz (Intro), Unity, Peace, Truth, Digression, and then Love--are the acts in respective order. The project is meant to fully capture the human experience and help nurture an epistemic shift in thinking from a ridged narrow-minded black-and-white view of the world  to an en-lighted understanding of the American ethos.

Sometimes it feels as if the composition is more of a philosophical treatise than a debut hip-hop album. It is easy to get lost in the story that is being told. However, it isn’t until Apollo’s artistic ensemble (EDULUTION) is looked at (or listened to, rather) as a whole, does the music, reference, and idea come full circle interlacing ideas and building a thought structure predicating axioms of understanding.

As with any good piece of art, the more you listen the more you will hear, and more you know, the more you will “see” and understand. To put it simply, EDULUTION is designed to inform citizens, tell the truth, create unity, and  popularize science, literature, and philosophy--in a contemporary framework from an American egalitarian perspective--through  musical expression and the use of cadence, lyricism, wit, and word play! Apollo vs. Dionysus (The Dichotomy Explained)

Apollonian and Dionysian is a literary, philosophical, and/or psychological concept that represents the figurative dichotomy between Apollo and Dionysus in Greek Mythology. Apollonian thought is concerned with logic, rationality, perfection, art, beauty, clarity, self-control, humanity, and creation. While Dionysian is prone to excess, instinct, chaos, intoxication, destruction, passion, nature, the irrational, and the illogical. Friedrick Nietzsche expands upon this concept in The Birth of Tragedy where the hero and main protagonist of the drama tries to make order (Apollonian) out of his unfair and chaotic (Dionysus) fate. Love and Respect [Track 22]

This song represents a theme that is present in Lyceum Recordz and that is Love & Respect for women. In this song, I am talking about the ideal girl for me. "She get me high, when i come by." Here, I am talking about how she makes me feel. I'm NOT saying that the girl for me literally gets me high all the time. Instead, I should feel high when I'm around her because her smile makes me wild. Naturally, that makes me want to be closer to her emotionally and sexually (and "make her body cry"). The first verse is about me meeting a girl I'm crazy about and deciding it would be okay if I "fell into her" and became closer. The second verse is me realizing I am in love with this girl because of the way she makes me feel (i.e. "butterflys in my stomach" and a "feel'n of heaven").
